Rewriting the rulebook with Isa Nortermans

When it comes to culture, it’s often the things that go unsaid that often speak the loudest. This week Ben Bars sat down for a perspective-shifting conversation with Isa Notermans with a refreshingly authentic and open dialogue that leaves nothing unsaid.

Isa is the Global Head of People and Culture at the fast growing scale-up Linktree, and has driven culture change across brands including Google and Spotify. With a scope that covers everything about the human experience at work, Isa’s ‘why’ is to help create pathways to enable her people to thrive and become the very best version of themselves.

She shares how she hopes to rewrite the rule of book of diversity and inclusion, which she says begins with change that benefits us all.

“We all need to change. We need to look at things systemically, and change them at the very core. So many people don’t want to do that because it feels like they are giving up their position.”

Learn how a mentor influenced Isa to see that change isn’t a zero sum game, but instead that the more opportunities we create for people the more opportunity there will be, and how a personal journey through severe burn out shaped Isa to who she is today.

This is a conversation that packs a nugget of wisdom a minute, from finding your ‘je ne sais quoi’, actively listening to your people, diversity to drive change and some truly people centric initiatives to take wellbeing from a quick fix to solving the root cause.
